2003 Tourney Recap

2003 Video Order Form - OHSAA Sanctioned Official Videos of the State Volleyball Matches. Last year, I ordered the Div I final and I am pleased with the quality. If you missed out on the matches, then I would highly recommend the Div I St Ursula's Semi and Final. (I have no affiliation with TigerVision Digital Productions.) He now has DVD's.

This has been the most talented Senior class that I have seen in all my years of watching Ohio volleyball. Danielle Meyer, Sarah Florian and Ami Stevens made an impact at State in their Freshman year. Beth Gillming, Beth Shelton, Bryn Kehoe, Stephanie Blackburn, Carli Reihman, Jeanna Staun and Maggie Case showed up as Sophmores. Ali Hausfeld, Carrie DeMange and Ashley Newcomer joined the State participants as Juniors. There are numerous other talented players that never made it to States such as Nicole Britenriker, Brandie Molnar, Jill Quayle and Molly Spencer.

Horrible Officiating. 

Kettering Archbishop Alter over Millersburg West Holmes 15-3,15-11
We had a rematch of the 02 final. This match appeared to be much like last years blowout as Alter won game one 15-3 and was up 9-1 in game two. West Holmes made a nice run to bring it to 12-10 before Alter closed them out 15-11. Carrie DeMange was almost perfect on hitting at a .655 clip. This capped off a year in which they pulled the trifecta on their biggest rival Roger Bacon, came in 5th at the prestigious Chicago Nike Invitational. Alter beat the Nebraska and Kentucky State Champs in the process and lost narrowly 28-26 in the 3rd to Mater Dei, CA the Nike Champs and California State Runner-up. Oh yeah, and they just won their 2nd state title in a row,
